INACTIVE VIRUS VACCINE IN OIL ADJUVANT
COMPOSITION
For a vaccine dose of 0.25 ml:
- Inactivated avian influenza virus type H9N2, Maroc1/16 strain At least 107 DIO50*
before inactivation. (*Minimum dose inducing a serological titer inhibiting haemagglutination >5log2).
- Inactivated Newcastle disease virus, La Sota strain at least 50 DP50**
(** Minimum protective dose inducing a serological titer inhibiting haemagglutination > 4 log2).
- Excipients 1 dose
Adjuvant: Mineral oil 125 to 150 mg
PHARMACEUTICAL PROPERTIES
Avian Influenza under the H9N2 type is an infectious disease, very contagious, due to an Orthomyxovirus type Influenza A, hemagglutinating, weakly pathogenic but can cause significant morbidity and mortality in poultry, especially in chicken and turkey farms. of flesh.
Newcastle disease is an infectious disease, very contagious, due to a paramyxovirus, hemagglutinating very resistant in the external environment, reaching the gallinaceous. In humans, it can cause conjunctivitis.
The only effective way to fight and control these diseases is to vaccinate birds with vaccines produced from strains whose phylogeny and antigenic properties are homologous to the wild strains responsible for these epidemics.
ATLAVAC H9N2+ND is an inactivated vaccine in the form of an injectable emulsion against the H9N2 subtype of the Avian Influenza virus and Newcastle disease. This vaccine is produced from the local Maroc 1/16 strain and the La Sota strain, grown on embryonated SPF chicken eggs of 10 + 1 day. The viral suspensions obtained are inactivated and then adjuvanted with mineral oil.
The minimum contents of each valence, per vaccine dose, are at least 107 DIO50 before inactivation of the H9N2 Maroc 1/16 strain, capable of inducing seroconversion in vaccinated birds at a titer > 5 log2 and at least 50 DP50 for the La Sota strain, allowing active immunization of subjects vaccinated against the H9N2 subtype of Avian Influenza and against Newcastle disease.
TARGET SPECIES
Hen species (broiler, future layers, and breeders) and broiler turkey.
INDICATIONS
Active immunization of broiler hens and turkeys against the H9N2 subtype of avian influenza and against Newcastle disease.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE
Route: The vaccine is administered intramuscularly at the level of the breastbone, or subcutaneously
in the lower part of the neck.
Method of administration: Subcutaneous injection is performed by pinching between the thumb and index finger
the skin at the level of the lower part of the neck, then the introduction of the needle under the skin in the opposite direction to
the chick's head and injection of the recommended dose.
Rates:
- Broiler: Administer a dose of 0.25ml per bird, during the first week of age.
- Future laying and breeding pullets: Administer a dose of 0.25ml during the first week of age and boosters of 0.3ml per dose before the onset of lay.
- Meat turkey: The primary vaccination includes a dose of 0.3ml per bird, during the first week of age. In poults from vaccinated mothers, it is preferable to carry out the primary vaccination around the 12th day of age. The second injection will be performed around the 30th day of age at a dose of 0.5ml. A booster dose of 0.5 ml per subject is recommended around the 60th day of age for males.
CONTRAINDICATIONS AND INTERACTIONS
- Sick animals should be excluded from vaccination.
- The use of the vaccine is not recommended within 2 weeks before the start of lay and during the laying period.
- No information is available on the safety and efficacy of the combination of this vaccine with another veterinary medicinal product. Therefore, the decision to use this vaccine before or after any other veterinary medicinal product should be made on a case-by-case basis.
SIDE EFFECTS
The vaccine used according to the recommended instructions does not induce any side effects.
WARNINGS :
- Avoid exposing birds to stress during and after vaccination.
- Do not place the birds in a contaminated environment.
- Minimize the risk of exposure to diseases.
- For veterinary use only.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Precautions for use in animals:
- Only vaccinate healthy birds.
- Bring the vial to room temperature for about two hours before injecting.
- Before use, homogenize the emulsion by shaking the bottle and from time to time during the injection.
- Use sterile equipment for the injection
- Avoid using a syringe with a plunger made from natural rubber or butyl derivatives.
- As the vaccine dose is small, regularly check the volume injected during vaccination.
- Use the entire contents of the bottle after opening.
Precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals:
- This vaccine contains mineral oil, and its accidental injection in humans can lead to significant pain and edema which can induce necrotizing ischemia.
- In the event of an accidental injection by the operator, notify a doctor immediately, even if the dose injected is very low.
WAITING PERIOD STORAGE CONDITIONS
- Store and transport the vaccine at a temperature between +2°C and +8°C, protected from light.
- Do not freeze.
